Rico,

As Bansama noted above, most programs don't actually clean up after themselves very well and leave some files and registry settings. However, you should notice that it is no longer running.

I used the uninstaller and it said it removed everything.

I checked and SecuROM is still on my PC.

Just figured I'd throw that out to you, keeping in mind 'nothing' on my PC now uses securom.

I think it's worth noting that the SecuROM uninstaller only appears to work in Safe Mode once all programs/games using SecuROM have been uninstalled. Further, it does not remove all registry entires, nor does it remove all the files in the folder contained within Documents and Settings.

However, there is a way to remove both of these by using other freely available software. For the record, I included full run down on how to remove SecuROM at the end of my post found at http://coldbluesun.com/b/2008/09/spore-gets-summoned-part-1/

That's all great and fine if I don't want to play Spore anymore, but I don't want to uninstall the game, just SecuROM whenever I'm NOT playing the game. It's causing regular CPU spikes at all times, and I just want SecuROM removed whenever Spore isn't running, but I don't want to uninstall Spore. Any information on being able to do that would be most appreciated.
